Illinois State University offers the following merit-based scholarships for new beginning incoming freshmen.

Presidential Scholars receive an $8,000 award annually renewable for up to eight semesters, for a potential value of $32,000. Finalists in National Merit and National Achievement Programs who enroll as Presidential Scholars and who list Illinois State as their first-choice school receive an additional $2,000 one year award.
Students not selected for the Presidential Scholars Program are automatically considered for other merit-based scholarships.
Illinois State University offers the University Scholarship Program for academically talented new beginning freshmen from traditionally underrepresented groups or first-generation college students facing the tough challenges of acquiring a college education. In addition, applicants must be U.S. citizens who have applied and been admitted to the fall term.
Each scholarship is valued at $5,000 per year and is renewable up to eight semesters. The total potential value of the scholarship is $20,000.
Your application for admission submitted during the priority filing period (September 1 through November 15) will be used to determine eligibility for these scholarships. Once you have been admitted to the University, students who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to apply online for scholarship consideration. Honors First-Year Scholarship are merit based scholarships in the amount of $2000 to be used by entering freshmen for two semesters of full-time study at Illinois State University during the upcoming academic year.
