Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship Program is the most prestigious scholarship program available to new freshmen. Presidential Scholars receive an $8,000 annual award, renewable for up to eight semesters, for a potential value of $32,000.

Recent Presidential Scholars have had an average ACT score in the lower 30's and an average cumulative GPA of 4.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Students who submitted their application for admission during the preferred filing period (September 1 – November 15) will be contacted by the Office of Admissions no later than the end of December. If they qualify to compete for the Presidential Scholarship, this select group of students will be contacted by mail, email, and phone with details outlining the scholarship process and necessary steps needed to complete a scholarship application.

Students selected to apply for the Presidential Scholarship will be automatically considered for the University Honors Program as well as, the Honors First-Year Scholarship. A separate application for the Honors Program is not required.

The deadline to submit scholarship documentation is January 8th, 2010.

All complete applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. A select group of students will be invited to move forward to the semi-finalist stage of the competition.  Semi-finalists must be available for an on-campus interview in February.  Although important information will be mailed to your home address, please also check your email regularly for status updates. The email address submitted on your scholarship application will be the one used for communications.

For more information on this scholarship please contact the Office of Admissions at (309) 438-2181 or toll-free at (800) 366-2478.
