Because graduate programs at Illinois State make their own decisions about whom to admit, they have varying application deadlines. See the Graduate Catalog or the department/school Web sites for more information. You should submit your application at least a year in advance of the semester you would like to attend.
The deadline for graduate student-at-large (non-degree seeking) admission status each semester is the Friday before classes begin. After that Friday, a student-at-large will be accepted only if a chair/director or graduate coordinator e-mails the Office of Admissions on the student's behalf to state that the school/department has an open seat in the desired class and will permit that student to enroll.
For programs that do not have an application deadline, it is recommended that applicants submit all materials by March 1st to be considered for the summer/fall term. Programs may consider later applications, but those submitted by March 1st are offered better opportunities for admission, financial aid, assistantships, and housing.
For programs that do not have an application deadline, it is recommended that applicants have all materials in by October 1st to be considered for the spring term. Programs may consider later applications, but those submitted by October 1st are offered better opportunities for admission, financial aid, assistantships, and housing.
