A native of Edwardsville, Illinois, Laurie Metcalf graduated from Illinois State in 1976 with a degree in theatre. She was one of the charter members of Chicago's groundbreaking Steppenwolf Theatre troupe. She is a three-time Emmy Award-winner for her role as "Jackie" on the hit television comedy, Roseanne. Metcalf also starred in the films Uncle Buck, JFK, and Scream 2.
