Experience "A Day in the Life" of Illinois State students.

Segment 1:

(Christian on Quad. Phone rings, stops to answer) “What’s up?” (pause) “How’m I doin?” “Well, let’s see, I got up (show residence hall room). Then I woke my roommate up (show pillow thrown at sleeping roommate). I had a chemistry lab” (show lab). (back to Christian on Quad) “Oh, and I ran into Chad, his intramural team (show intramural sport) won it all last night. (pause) No, seriously, I’m not kidding.” (back to Christian on Quad) “So, what’s goin on with you?”

Segment 2:

(Sarah in slippers and pjs headed for food court talking on phone) “I’m headed for breakfast at the moment, but later I get to student teach (show student teaching)for the first time” (pause) “Yes! And I’m so excited!” (show getting food) “Oh, and I’m meeting Ann later at the Bone (must show BSC sign, then possibly Brewsters), we’re going to get tickets for the concert (show ticket office). Cool, huh?” (back to Sarah sitting down eating) “Wait, I got another call, I’ll talk to you later.” (button pushing) “Hello?”

Segment 3:

(Jaquice outside library) “Sarah, have you done the research for 267?” (pause) “Where did you find the articles we need?” (pause) “Great, thanks, I’ll e-mail you what I find.” (Jaquice entering library) thinks out loud, “OK, so first a little research (show Jaquice in stacks, finding an article).... I better e-mail Sarah (show Jaquice sitting in comfortable chair with laptop), then I’m off to the Rec (show Rec Center) for a workout.” (back to Jaquice in library) “Oh, I’d better try to IM Benjamin and see what’s going on this weekend.”

Segment 4:

(Benjamin heading into computer lab) thinking to self, “Let’s see, I need to check my messages before class. (sitting at computer) OK, a message from Jaquice, what am I doing this weekend, well duh," (returns message) thinking out loud as typing, “you know me, got to go to the Redbird game, (show Redbird game with crowd going nuts) paint my face and all that!” (show Benjamin heading down hall toward the coffee station in CVA) “I need some caffeine," (Benjamin getting coffee) "then it’s off to class" (show sculpture class) (back to Benjamin leaving coffee shop, still thinking out loud), “You know, I’m actually having a decent day!” (near miss with Christian, passing recognition).

Segment 5:

(finish near miss with Benjamin) Christian thinking out loud, “Man, today is nuts!” (show Christian on Quad) “Got a test in an hour. Need to go over my notes one more time.” (show Christian sitting somewhere on Quad studying) phone rings, “What’s up? (pause) Yea, my test is coming up, but I’m going to ace it. Hey, do you want to go to the mall later? (pause) Yea, we can take the Nite Ride, (show Nite Ride bus) hit a couple of places, (show some stores). (pause) Cool! later.” (Christian looks up and yells across Quad) “Sarah, how’d student teaching go?”

Segment 6:

(Sarah walking across Quad, looks, waves, and yells back) “I did great! I’ll tell you about it later,” (Sarah thinking out loud) “I’ve got to catch professor Brown, (show Sarah enter building) I need to get her OK on my proposal.” (show Sarah in professor’s office)(show Sarah leaving office) “That went well, now I need a little nap before dinner (show Sarah in room) “I’m thinking Mexican tonight..." (show Pepe’s Mexican food shop) (back to Sarah lying down) “but I gotta save room for pizza later. I wonder if I’ll see Benjamin tonight?” (show thought visual of Benjamin).

Segment 7:

(Show Benjamin leaving technology class) thinking out loud, “Last class of the day, I wasn’t sure I would like that class, (show robot operating) but I’m actually learning something, and enjoying it!” (show Benjamin exiting building) still thinking out loud “That’s a scary thought, wonder what’s happening to me.” (Show Benjamin walking from Turner with Arena and Horton in background) “On the other hand, I’m really looking forward to the game and the party this weekend. (show a party) Good to know I can learn and still have some fun.” (show Benjamin approaching underpass with main campus in background) “And of course there’s our little pizza party tonight. I wonder if Jaquice will be working (show thought video of Jaquice)."

Segment 8:

(show Jaquice at work at Avanti’s) thinking out loud, “I am so glad I took this job. The people here are fun, I can work around my school schedule, and I make a little mad money. ??????? but graduation is around the corner????? Jaquice still thinking out loud, “I guess coming to Illinois State was a good idea!”
