Summer School for Summer Visitors

Admission

You are considered a “Summer Visitor” if you are a student who is currently attending another college or university who wishes to continue there, but enroll at Illinois State only during the Summer Session.  To enroll at Illinois State for the Summer Session only you need to do the following:

  1. Submit the Undergraduate Application for Admission. You must download and mail a paper copy to Office of Admissions, Illinois State University, Campus Box 2200, Normal  IL  61790-2200.

  2. Submit a statement of academic good standing from the University Registrar or Academic Dean in charge of records from the college our university the student is current attending. 

Please be aware that submission of official transcripts may be necessary for placement into some courses. 

Class Registration

You can view course offerings online at www.ilstu.edu/courseofferings. For registration information contact the Student Service and Referral Center at (309) 428-2188.

Detailed information about class registration will be mailed to you once you are admitted to the University as a Summer Visitor. 

Academic Advisement

As a Summer Visitor, academic advisement is provided by University College Academic Advisement.  If you feel an appointment is necessary, please contact University College Academic Advisement as soon as possible at (309) 438-7604.

If you plan to transfer a course to another institution, please consult with that institution about course transferability.
